Dáil Visit

The Third Year’s visit to the Dáil on Budget Day was an enjoyable and exciting event. The student’s tour of the Oireachtas on one of the busiest days resulted in them seeing a number of famous faces including An Taoiseach Brian Cowen. The trip was organised as part of their CSPE Action Project and it was facilitated by our local TD Andrew Doyle. Many thanks to Andrew, who took time out of his busy schedule, to speak with our students on the day.

Student Council QUIZ

The student council have been busy organising a Christmas Quiz-a-thon in aid of the National Children’s Hospital Tallaght. The quiz will take place in the school on Tuesday 22 December.

Eco Christmas Tree

A special thanks to our Second Year Resource Students for their hard work in creating this year’s Eco Tree. The tree which can be replanted is festively decorated with decorations made from recyclable material. The school foyer has also been magically transformed with lots of decorations designed by the art classes. A special thanks to all students and staff for their hard work in bringing about this merry transformation.

Carol Service

Tuesday Night’s Carol Service was fantastic. The school’s choir and musicians came together to perform a number of festive songs. Special thanks to all those who attended and to all students and staff involved in organising this enjoyable event.

Christmas On Ice

On Thursday evening our Second and Third Year students enjoyed their outing to Christmas on Ice in the RDS. The trip was organised as a reward for positive behaviour. Students and teachers had lots of fun skating on one of the largest skating rinks in Ireland.

Young Scientist 2010

A project analysing the effects of plyometrics and weight training on secondary school children has been accepted for next year’s Young Scientist Competition. Those involved in the project include Sarah Miley, Ciara Duffy, Conor McGraynor, Benji Levai and Maeve Quinn. The students are busy gathering data and analysing results for the competition in January. Best wishes to all involved.

Basketball

Our U16 and U19 Basketball Team have qualified for the South East Semi Finals and are looking forward to taking on Presentation College Carlow in the coming week. Best of luck to all involved.

Camogie

Best of luck to our Senior Camogie Team who play Coláiste Bhride in the semi-final this week.
