Quiz Dream
Congratulations to the school’s Quiz Team who are now through to the Leinster Finals. The team made up of Conor Byrne (Captain), Bryan Kenna, Peter O’Neill and Scott Kenna took on Knockbeg College, Carlow in their recent round and are delighted to represent the school inthe next stage of the competition.
Sporting Success
We are delighted to report a number of sporting successes this week. Our Junior Camogie Team took on Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass in their match on Wednesday. Following their success, in a closely contested match, our team are now through to the final which will be played inthe coming weeks.
Our Rugby Team had similar successes this week when they played against De La Salle College, Wicklow and Colaiste Bhride, Carnew. Congratualtions to both teams and best wishes for future games.
Second Year Boys Basketball
Well done to our Second Year Boys Basketball Team for their excellent performance in the All-Ireland Quarter Finals in the National Basketball Arena. Winning two out of their three matches the team narrowly missed out on a place in the Semi-Finals.
Senior A Football Final
Our Senior Boys Football Team will take on Colaiste Bhride, Carnew inthe County Final which will be played in Augrim on Monday, May 3rd. Support on the day would be greatly appreciated as this is guranteed to be an exciting match.
VEC Environmental Awareness Programme
Avondale Community College were delighted to take part in this year’sVEC Environmental Awareness Programme. On Monday and Tuesday of thisweek our Transition Year Students presented their projects to a group of judges.The projects embraced many aspects of environmental awareness ranging from
and many more. We look forward with anticipation to the upcoming VEC EnvironmentalAwards Ceremony which will take place on May 12th.
